Kevin LeMond

Red Robin Scholar Athlete

of the Month

October 2009

Congratulations to Kevin LeMond, a senior at Issaquah High School.  He has been selected as the October Red Robin Scholar Athlete of the Month by the Issaquah Booster Club and Red Robin Restaurant.

I.H.S. Cross Country Coach, Gwen Robertson nominated Kevin, and writes: “Kevin has been the leader on our undefeated boys’ team this season.  He leads by example in practice and at meets, is hard working and our number one runner this season.  He has become one of the best runners in the KingCo League.  Kevin is a three year varsity letter winner in both track and cross country.  He also played basketball at I.H.S. during his freshman and sophomore years.  He was voted as the ‘most improved’ boy twice-once in cross country and once in track.”

Kevin says that the best experience thus far this season was winning the District Meet.  This was the first time the I.H.S. boys won Districts in school history.  The team also won KingCo and will travel to Pasco on Nov. 7th for the State Meet.  Kevin enjoys the great camaraderie on the team.

At Issaquah High School Kevin is the Athletic and Technical Correspondent for ASB.  He is also an active volunteer with the Joshua P. Williams Foundation.  That foundation raises funds for 5 charities:  The Boys and Girls Club, Friends of Youth, Athletes for Kids, Camp Sambica and Young Life.  Next year he hopes to run competitively in college and has applied to several colleges in the Western Region.

Kevin is an exemplary scholar athlete. His hard work and dedication have made him a shining example to represent Issaquah High School.   We want to congratulate Kevin and wish him the best of luck in the future!
