High School Booster Club
Standing Rules
1. The
name of this organization is the Issaquah High School Booster Club.
- The club is incorporated as a non-profit
corporation by the State of Washington,
Renewable annually. The IHS
Booster Club is a non-profit, tax exempt
Organization, under section
501 C (3).
- The IHS Booster Club seeks to increase student
academic success and social interactions through encouraging and
supporting participation in school-sponsored co-curricular activities.
The IHS BOOSTER CLUB has a two-fold purpose: first, to promote school
spirit, and second, to provide limited financial support for all
co-curricular school-sponsored student activities, including sports,
fine arts and other clubs. The IHS BOOSTER CLUB will evaluate requests
for funds and grant those funds based on the merit of the request and
availability of funds. The IHS BOOSTER CLUB raises money for these
grants through various fund-raising activities throughout the year.
- Family membership dues are $35.00 annually.
- Only individuals whose dues are paid shall vote or
hold office in this club.
- Members of the Board of Directors of this Club are
the elected officers; the immediate past president, and all appointed or
elected committee chairs.
- The Treasurer’s responsibilities are set forth in
the Bylaws and enumerated in Attachment 1.
- The Secretary is responsible for taking minutes,
updating files as necessary, serving as the registered agent and other
duties as outlined in the Bylaws.
- The President shall be an ex-officio member of all
committees. The President
shall conduct all meetings
and fulfill all duties as outlined in the Bylaws.
- The President shall appoint the following
standing committee chairs: Membership, Communications, Chili’s Award,
and Incredible Indian Award, Merchandise. The following adhoc committee
chairs, Programs; School Service Projects & Grants; Budget, Finance &
Individual Fund Raising Events; Scholarship; and Nominations as
necessary to carry on the functions of the organization.
- The club must have a carry over of $2,000 as
stated by the By-laws.
- General membership meetings shall be held in
September, November, January,
and May. Special meetings
may be called at the discretion of the
President.
- The club may provide Sustaining Memberships to
local businesses. The
membership fee shall be no
less than $35.00 per business.
Sustaining members
shall have no voice nor vote
in this club.
- Booster clubs for individual sports or activities
may request matching funds,
Grants or loans. The
procedure for such requests is set forth in Attachment 2.
- Amendments to the Standing Rules may be made at
any regular meeting. The
motion to amend must carry by
a 2/3 vote; or if previous notice is given, a
majority vote.
